Neck strap and hand strap

Hi,

I hope this hasnt already been covered, i had a search but didnt find anyhing!

I am off on holiday soon and want to change the way i hold the camera, currently i have the neck strap but I want to fit the Nikon hand strap but leave the original neck strap on, it wont fit straight on because the right hand hookeye is too small to hold two metal rings and the existing metal ring will only hold the neck strap! has anyone else done this because i cant see a simple way of solving this?

I have looked at third party products like the Black Rapid which obviously would work as it clips to the bottom but i would like to have both the neck and hand strap.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Nikon wrist strap. But.. How about adding two small split rings to the camera's ring to make the camera ring a 'double'? Maybe them add to both sides if you like symmetry? Around here, small key-ring style split rings like that can be found where fishing equipment is sold. They come in various small sizes and I think two would easily slip on the camera triangular attachment side by side and give you two attachment points.

I know all the pros likes Black rapid, but I like Op/Tech uni-loop system. I can quickly switch from nothing to wrist strap, neck strap or sling strap.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, i have done exactly what you have suggested and went to the fishing tackle shop and got some small strong split rings, they should do the trick.

I have also bought two replacement genuine Nikon neck strap triangle split rings to attach it all with!!

Genuis!!

There are alot of options with the Op/Tech uni-loop system but i do like to the use of the Blackrapid been fixed to the base! pros and cons of both i suppose!

Great. The rings available in tackle shops are quite strong. I didn't know the triangle split rings were readily available, that will give you a nice finished look.
