My wife MoabLady and I have not been around much. Her father was dying of colon cancer and has finally passed. We had come to terms with it and are happy for him that he has passed as we didn't want to see him suffer. Which now brings me to this thread. My wife and I inherited this book and large framed item that is a mystery and I love mysteries. Contained in the book are some interesting things. My father-in-law was a military man that traveled the world during the Korean war era and collected some interesting stuff. Much of the interesting stuff is a complete mystery to us and we never knew he had these things. So in the interest of trying to unravel some of the mans travels I wanted to throw some pictures of items out to our worldwide audience that might be able to shed some light on these things as we retrace his globe trotting. This first item is 5' 6" x 3' 10". It is, I'm guessing, thin cotton cloth similar to a thin bed sheet material - but thinner still. The image seems to be painted on in look, but is smooth to the touch. The wood frame was put on in the state of Maryland at a place called The Framers Vice. We suspect the cloth image came back with him from overseas and he had it framed while stationed on the east coast of the United States. So there is the story on this first item. Anyone able to shed some light?
