My second attempt at raw post processing!

Nice attempt, looks good. Just like all of us and our first photographs there will be quite a learning curve. I've come to the conclusion that photography, in the digital era, is 50% the photo and 50% post.

Keep going. I would still push that contrast a bit further and vibrance up.

I too like natural colours. Here is what can be done to "spruce up". Though both the shots were taken with different lenses on different days, the colours were same.

Photography is art, so there is no right way, just the best way for the photographer and his/her approach to a subject. In some cases I will "spruce up" a sunset or other colorful scene to make a dramatic picture. Other times I want to capture the scene just as it looked to the human eye.

Yep. A fine line there is between just right and too much. It depends on the image.

The punched up version in post #11, the flower is on the verge of sinking into the background. It is subtle but it has lost the distinction it has in the before picture.

My eye though and as @Woodyg3 says, it is in the eye of the artist that matters most.
