I got my new coupling ring today. I tried different combos to see what was better. I'm finding a 50mm on 50mm does better then the 85mm macro w/50mm reversed. I went out and tried it free hand to get the feel. There was vignette on the 2 50mm. But was able to crop it out.DSC_0629 (800x531).jpg DSC_0642 (800x534).jpgDSC_0646 (800x533).jpg

I was deathly afraid of spiders. When I was growing up I used to run into these spiders in the fields. Sometimes literally run into them. In the last few years I haven't been afraid. Now I can get up close to them. This girl wasn't very big. Her abdomen was about 1" or more wide. I have seen larger. These are also the largest spider breed in this area.(Golden Orb}

Hi Clay,

I just spent some time looking at these photos of yours…

My comment, if I may, is not about your pictures but about you!

I perceive the meticulous and well seasoned hunter in your approach to your "preys".
A great variety: colours, subjects, situations, etc. I cannot concluded the amount of
cropping… never mind!

This is possibly "image hunting" at it's smallest scale!

Keep rockin', man…

Kodiak: thanks. I only crop tight to show the details. To see up this close just amazes me.
bechdan: no the ant isn't dead. He laid flat thinking I wouldn't see him.

I got some shots in yesterday. I used my rogue flash bender to get the flash in front of the lens. this worked pretty good until I ran out of battery for the flash.DSC_0454 (640x427).jpgDSC_0460 (640x428).jpgDSC_0468 (640x427).jpg
