The cam arrived Wednesday, but no one was home to sign for it, so they delivered it to the UPS store Thursday. I got home late so I didn't go pick it up till this morning, so I took it to work with me.
I played with it for a few hours while waiting to get loaded at the Coke warehouse. I had no manual, which is strange, since every time I ever got anything refurbished from Adorama, it always came with a manual.
Things that I like so far.
ISO button on top, for easy access. (since there is no "easy ISO" setting like there is on the D750, this will have to do)
Viewfinder shutter. I love this...very smart
The unlock button on the release mode dial is now placed on the top of the dial instead on the bottom. Makes it easier to unlock and rotate.
I like the round viewfinder eyepiece. This is not falling off. On my D750 it keeps falling off.
I like the joystick.
I also like that the diopter adjustment control is a pull out to rotate and push in to lock system. Much easier to rotate.
I miss the AF area mode selector that was on my D300.
Banks?...What can I say.. I never used them much on my D300, and unless I'm missing something, I don't really see the point. If you can't save your settings and make them stick....
I will however study this more closely before throwing up my arms.
I did not take many initial shots, since I didn't have much time, so I'll wait and see till tomorrow. Max and I are going to give this thing a workout tomorrow with the 200-500 lens, and see what all the hype is all about.
