The G and E 24-70 2.8 both work great on the Z cameras, mine do anyway. But the 24-70 f/4 is likely the sharpest zoom available right now. It is really good. It has a bit higher distortion but the camera and LR have automatic correction in the lens profiles. Resolving power in the corners, sharpness, color, micro contrast and flare resistance, are flat out better. They just announced the 2.8 version but it would have to be a lot better get me to switch. The Z 50 1.8 might well be the sharpest lens available. Probably the most striking feature of the Z6 is the low light performance. It is better than my D850 or D800 and tests by a Nikon employee who has a vlog on YouTube did some interesting tests, comparing to the D5 and the Z6beat in noise preserved detail and right up to 102,000 ISO! At 51,000 is was clearly better. I have published images at 22,000 ISO that looks good. The Z7 is a stop lower in high ISO performance. I think when the S lenses start filling out the focal lengths, a Z7 and the new fast S lenses will be the combo for commercial ad work, fashion, product and portraiture, while the Z6 will be the general purpose low light and high-performance video. In 3 weeks, I have shot the D8x0 cameras but once, not because they are not top cameras, they are, but because the Z6 brings fun back into carrying a camera around all day. Tonight my friend Nastia and I were out walking around chatting on the first spring-like day(+3C) and the snow/ice disappears over the last couple days. We were looking for someplace that had some jazz or just a nice bar and I just captured a couple shots while she was near a restaurant window with some neon sign, it was dark, dark enough to have trouble seeing the sidewalk we were on. f/4, 1/100 ISO 12,000.I could not even see her left(camera right )eye
