I was earlier working with Lightroom(LR) and noticed that a lot, if not most, of my photo files were unavailable. So I checked to see it the drive they were on had been disconnected from the computer, discovering that it had. When it was reconnected, it was empty. Most of the files are backed up on another drive, but LR doesn't know that, so all of my LR work seems to be lost, and now if I want to find a photo, I have to search all of the other drives and rework them in LR. I'm going to have to recopy all of the files to the empty drive, which I've checked and can do.
I've run antivirus scans on everything and the only possibility is that the drive was wiped or reformatted inadvertently. I've got a lot of work to do, but at least I have most of my files backed up.
Are your files backed up?
