I have a Nikon birding friend that I hope to go out with sometime when the weather is nice as I'm dying to try a 300 mm 2.8 Ai-S I have on the way...and this particular one comes with an added secret weapon....an autofocus converter (the 300 mm is the last generation MF lens before the AF ones came out).
