Ok, so it's no glamorous f/2.8 telephoto magic, but it takes pretty good photos.:p
I like it better than my sigma 70-300 which I see no one wants to buy from me.:D:D

These are straight OOC with no processing whatsoever.

Works good. Beautiful flowers. Just take a little more care about the DoF - the last photo (the rear end of the automobile) is taken at the aperture of 18 (f/18), which produced a slightly "nervous" bokeh (could have been avoided here, easily).

Yea, you know how it is, when you get a new lens the first time, you just forget about settings and start shooting away crazy like.;):)

On the last shot I just wanted to see at 200mm what the contrast was like.

Looks like a sweet lens. For the price it seems like a real bargain. What is it you don't like about the Sigma?

You know, I just can't get my finger on it exactly what I don't like about it. When I look at the shots coming out of it, (not just at full zoom but at all focal lengths ) it just doesn't do anything for me. It's hard to explain.

Then maybe try some side by side shots with your new one and the Sigma and try to figure out what's different between them. You might learn something in the exercice, you never know.

You don't have to make any apologies for it. It's a good lens and you got it at a great price. And it will take very good photos. "Glamorous" lenses are far over rated. Enjoy!

Honestly, from all the tests and reviews, that Sigma is really not all that great all in all. I was debating one when I wanted more reach and better quality than 55-200 DX, and the only real answer was 70-300 VR. When you get bored of both, I'd sell em and put the hopefully ~$200 towards a used 70-300 VR. That's one thing you won't regret.
