The last monitor thread that I found was in July of this year (I know, just a few months ago). Anyway here is where I am in my computer dilemma now. My new (3 months old) laptop has decided that the connection between the display and the computer is not supposed to make contact all of the time. Most of the time now I get a grey display with lines. Moving it on the hinge will sometimes hit a sweet spot for the display to work. Anyway that is a warranty item and I am waiting to get the box to ship it for repairs. Now my desktop (Oooooooooolllldddd one running Vista) has decided to give up the ghost. I ordered a new Dell XPS this morning, but decided I would look for a monitor elsewhere (even if it is a Dell). The video card is a Nvidia GTX1050ti and I am looking for a monitor for photo processing. An IPS display, not necessarily 4K. I'm not even sure if a 4K display would benefit me. I saw the Dell U2717D (I think it was) recommendations and the ASUS PB278Q or something in the previous thread, but I am wondering if anyone has come up with something new in the way of a recommendation. I have looked at specs and reviews today until my head is spinning. I think I am interested in one and then a whole slew of negative reviews appear. Price range would be in the $300-$700 range. Low end more so than the high, but I could bite the bullet for the higher if... I would like to have some left for calibration equipment (Spyder or something). Thanks
