Modern Day Slavery

Appalling. I wonder have you seen a "Blood in the mobile" (directed by Frank Piasechi Poulsen). Best movie of it's kind, in my opinion... It reveals those hidden ties between multinational companies and the corrupted "local authorities" in Africa who sacrifice their own citizens by helping companies to employ them for the miserably low salaries etc.

Nothing has really changed since B. Traven wrote his novels (The Death Ship, The cotton pickers...)...

I am amazed that anyone is amazed by this. Slavery exists on almost every continent and is driven mostly by "profit" at any cost. Too often we unwittingly support by not paying attention to where the products that make our lives easier come from.
