Hi everyone, I am posting this here as out of all the forums I use i really do appreciate your feedback and advice over them all. The few times I have needed help or advice you fine people have provided it. So here goes!!

Lee Shand Photography - I am confused. I don't really know what it or I wants to be. I originally set the site up with grand plans of making money out of photography, now whilst its early days and I am sure I could make SOME money, I realize I have a day job, that the photography could never compete with in terms of income.

A the moment the way in which the site is worded is very much business like, but I am fully aware that business is not going to come my way that often, because its not my main priority. What I love doing at the mo is wildlife pictures, landscapes, that kind of thing. I have a blog that I really love writing, should that be the main focus of the site? My head tells me so.

I think I could still make the odd $ from prints and referrals from friends etc, so I could keep the store and some of the wording. i just think I should change the way the site looks to better suit what I am trying to achieve which I think is a Wildlife and Nature first and sharing that with as many people as I can and a business very much secondary.

So what i was thinking of doing was making the site blog based? Making the blog the anchor piece of the site and everything else secondary. What do you people think? I would be interested to know.

Lee

To be honest..The $$ is in people.. Portraits, events, etc....If you really wanna make $ for your work, you will need a solid portfolio of quality work involving people...Even that can be tough sometimes..You really have to market yourself and show your work as much as possible.

I don't see why you can't do both Lee... Looks like you can move the Blog(pageContent) to the Home page, and leave everything as is...
That did cross my mind. I was looking at some other Squarespace Templates though that might suit a blog based site rather than what I have. Thanks for the input Fred

I understand and agree with this, I think I realized I just don't have the time to do the marketing bit.
