I drilled a 1/8th hole and then taped a piece of aluminium over the hole. That's where I put the needle barely going through the aluminium's thickness. Smaller hole will get sharper images but they will never be as sharp as with a lens. I have tried different sizes and then my results started to be better.  So I'm now sticking to the size I have.I did put the aluminium on the outside of the cap since when inside it reflects too much light and contribute to even more out of focus flare kind of images.</blockquote>
