Thanks for your nice compliments Ron, but no, I'm in no way a Nikon pitchman for the Df. It's just that I had the occasion to exchange my D600 for a lightly used Df through Kijiji (canadian version of Craig's list). The first time I held the Df in the store when it came out, I thought I would never get it. The sensor's quality (or supposed quality) is what got me interested. I thought for my use 16 Mp were just fine. The shutter in Quiet mode is really silent and in normal mode doesn't induce as much mirror vibration than the D600 or D7000. But, as you've probably experienced too, Nikon Acquisition Syndrome is watching all of us at all time. As much as I keep fighting against buying things that I don't need but just want, it keeps bugging me until I drop the money and fill my wants... And Nikon is in business to make money and they know this as well, so they come out with newer shinier models every once a while and they finally get to me. Right now, I'm thinking D750 or D810, so go figure. But every now and then when I use my D700 I'm just amazed at the results I get with it and the handling of this camera. And 12 Mp is more than enough for my needs. So I'm trying to use what I have and not shopping on the web for a new camera. After all, a camera is just a tool to make pictures, and even if I'd have all of them, it wouldn't be good if I just stay home and look at them and pixel peek on my computer. I just try to go out with them and shoot as much as I can.
