Manual Mode Photography

I'm with some of the old coots here and stuck in the 60's and 70's. Back when cameras weren't "smart". ;)
If I am doing landscapes or stationary shooting it is 'manual' all the way. If it is on the move I will set the ISO and let the camera fuss with the rest ... but it chaps me. ;)

My major beef is with auto-focus ... purely and simply: I hate it. It is either going to focus on the wrong thing like a twig in the foreground, or it will wander, or never even lock in at all! Hate and despise it! :p

You don't have to have it set to try and use a ton of points to focus. Just set it to focus on what you are shooting at. You can force your ISO and shoot in A mode and shoot f/8 to help with the front and back focusing.
