Macro Photography Workshop

Ok just got back from my very first workshop and even though the numbers were low (only two people), I really enjoyed teaching what I know and having a hands on in helping. From the feedback that I got both enjoyed the shoot and are wanting to get out more to practice. I managed to cover everything and with reduced numbers it was easy to spend plenty of time with them both.

Here are a few examples, Noelee had never tried this before and did not have a macro lens so used the Raynox DCR-250, Emily used my 90mm Tamron. PS Emily is 14 and paid for this out of her own pocket.

I see bump in camera and macro gear sales in the near future -- they both did a great job and are probably hooked for good.

Yes Noelee was asking me about macro lenses and the Raynox, and I know Emily is expecting a 90mm Tamron in the future.

I think my next follow on workshop will be all about flashes and diffusers, also I found the perfect foam board for diffusers. It comes from a hobby store and is cheap.

Cool, so your defuser popularity will hopefully soon start with your good ol buddy Bill being sent one! Lol ;)

That could be a possibility mate, what size filter end is your macro lens? I may be able to make something up. I have a design in mind that will be sturdy and hopefully adjustable to a certain extent.

Wow, great class format! You're a great all-around photography, but macro is obviously your forte. I wish you weren't so far away, as I would love to take your class!

And buy you that beer.
