I looked but online they say they are open till 5:30PM I think it is probably a small local airport

I have an idea. I don't know what hotel we're staying at, but if they have one in or around macon, you could call them and explain the situation. Tell them that you're spending a bunch of money to stay at their wonderful establishment in Lakeland FL and if it wouldn't be too much trouble if you could park your vehicle there for a few days.
