I started shooting about 20 years ago when my wife and I bought ourselves a Canon Ae1 for a wedding present to ourselves. With them I shot Canon for a while and then convinced the boss to make the switch to Nikon. I haven't shot anything small format that wasn't Nikon. Like an idiot I left that job. Did side work off and on for a few years. The last 2 years, due to a blurry D200, I've only been shooting rarely. I just get too frustrated trying to shoot infrared (my first love), it's hard enough to get an in focus shot with visible light w/out adding in the IR complexities. But, I'm working on getting a D750 and a few new lenses and a new computer capable of running PS CC and LR.
