Here is an update to the update. I have found an even better minimalistic bag. Its still crumpler (love the make and quality) But I have finally settled for the quick escape 300. The 300 would have been on the small side for a D7000 with 18-105vr kit lens. The answer was simple. Inside the 300 is a flap that can carry spare SD cards. I flipped the bag inside out, making access to that flap easier and carefully and neatly cut the flap out. It is quite thick when your looking for a snug fitting camera bag. By cutting this flap/section out the 300 has enough room for the camera with lens attached and the original camera strap to tuck in nicely with no undue pressure on the zip. In other words a perfect fit. You could not get a camera bag any smaller for your D7000. Its very comfortable, unobtrusive, and you can wear it over the shoulder, or around the waist at choice. Unlike the crumpler jimmy bo. The quick escape has a waterproof cover tucked away at the back of the bag. So if your caught in a heavy downpour the cover can easily be pulled over the whole bag giving excellent protection from the elements. You cant get anything other than the camera in there. But thats exactly how I wanted to sight see. Nothing bulky, or look at me, I'm a tourist with a Nikon DSLR for you to pinch. I do have a 500 and 400 in my arsenal now. But for those long treks around cities and general sight seeing. I could not be happier. Hope this info help a fellow camera keener who's asking himself the same questions I did.
