Low cost FX - my take

Thanks for your reply.

I also would be interested in those two features, it sounds especially useful for perched birds.

I'm wondering how much money over the D610 we would be prepared to pay for those features. My thoughts are that I'd pay half way towards the D810 price - otherwise why not just buy the D810. What do you think?

Because the D810 has 36MP which at this point I am not interested in...So why not save the $$$ on the price of the body and put it towards glass, education, or lighting...I know the D810 is an awesome camera..But until I am a Full-Time Professional..I cant justify the cost..
I will continue to grow with my D610 and wont grab the D750 right away..Need to make the $$ from my payed gigs before I go that route...It's up to you which one you get..For Birds I would skip the D610 and go for the D750 due to it being an action camera..(Birds flying etc)
Hope this helps..

Thanks for your thoughts. I wasn't thinking of buying a D810 as I can't justify it, I was just considering how close the D750 could get to the D810 in price before it's too close & the same justifications as the D810 come in.

I was chatting about this FX DX thing with my wife today. Some people like her prefer a good DX like the 7100 because it's lighter, better value for money, takes lighter cheaper fast glass oh and you get the crop factor thingy if you need it. She now has F1.8 or 2.8 glass from 10.5 - 200mm and apart from the 70-200 vrii it was all a half or third of the FX equivalents. She also has the Tamron 150-600 giving an effective 900mm!! Even cropping a D800 doesn't get close to that resolution.

The reason we discussed it was because we were out shooting and when I saw her pictures on the D7100 with Sigma 17-50 at 2.8 I seriously wondered why I bother with my D800 as they looked very, very good to me.
