Lost the 'Unconstrained' Crop Option

The other day after I created a brush preset for my watermark, I noticed the option for unconstrained crop was gone. While creating the watermark, I used the unconstrained option before saving it as a brush.

Now when I use the Ratio option, it works as the Unconstrained option. Is there any way to get the Unconstrained option back? Prior to this problem, I used to have both the Ratio as well as the Unconstrained crop options. Thanks for any ideas on how to resolve this. ;)

I don't if this is the BEST way to handle this issue but when I have an image open and the Crop Tool selected, I right click on the image and choose the option, "Clear Ratio".

Ratio now works like my previous Unconstrained option. Not sure what it did prior to this because I never used Ratio by itself until now.

But I had both of them at the same time. Somehow while creating the watermark brush, the unconstrained option just went *poof* and was gone. :(

I have not had it in a while. I forget exactly when but one of the updates they changed the layout.

Crop ratio modes
You can mouse-down on the crop aspect ratio menu to select which crop ratio mode you want to use (see Figure 3). In Photoshop CC the 'Unconstrained' option has been removed and there is now a clearer indication between the 'Ratio' and 'W x H x Resolution' modes (you can click the 'Clear' button to clear all the current fields to quickly get the 'unconstrained' behavior). Also, when the W x H x Resolution mode is selected, a Resolution field box appears in the Options bar (see Figure 5) and the last used settings are always remembered when exiting the crop tool. The Original Ratio option is still available though, but this has now been placed among the factory ratio presets list

I see what it says in the article, but I swear I used the unconstrained option the first time I created a watermark, but when I went in the next day to change the watermark, the unconstrained option was missing. That's just really odd because I would have noticed it the first time. Thanks for finding this info. At least I won't keep looking for it now! ;)

in the Drink Library they list a drink called the Pennsylvania and it starts off with 4 parts of Cuban Rum. I guess you have been working on perfecting the recipe. LOL

the first time I missed it kind of threw me off and I kept looking for it everywhere till I figured out that they had renamed it.

On the right of the dimensions box, I have a button named "Clear". This does it for me. Do you still have this?

Yes, I do. After reading your comment, I tried it, but it doesn't bring back the unconstrained option.

According to what Don said, PCC no longer has the unconstrained option. The thing is out of all the crop options, the only ones I've used are Original Ratio, WxHxResolution, and Unconstrained. I swear it was there because I've used it although of the three I use, it was used the least.

Well, well, well! I found out how to reset the crop tools, and now it is there. ;) I right clicked the drop down arrow next to the crop icon.

Which version are you using? I still use an older version. I'll try the latest one and will get back to you. Are you using a Mac or PC?

Thanks Marcel. Not sure if you missed my previous post that I found how to reset the crop tool. That took care of it.

Yup, I had missed it... Well no harm in having too much information. ;) Have a great weekend.
