Loss of files after LCD review

Hello Everyone.

Having an unusual issue with my D90. Lets say i take some pictures, then look to review on the LCD, i can see all of the thumbnails no problem....i then go into the picture to perhaps just view or edit, and then back out of the picture. Then, reviewing the files as thumbnails again, some of the files that were there minutes before, have gone and are replaced by a red X. This is a real problem for me as i'm loosing precious family pictures.

I've tried multiple new cards, and formatting but the issue persists,

Can anyone offer any remedies ?

Take the card out of the camera, put it into a card reader and copy your files to your computer. I'd bet that the files are still there and you can then work on them. Otherwise, I don't have a clue. I would try a two button camera reset and make sure you format your cards in the camera and not on the computer.

Possible faulty sd card. Try to replicate using different sd card to see if it does the same.
