This is an inexpensive lens and does not have the quality of a higher grade also more expensive lens. This lens does not have the silent wave focusing drive but depends on a in body focus drive. Your D3000 does not have a focus drive anyway so you would be focusing manually. The lens falls down in several other areas as well. The macro isn't that well thought of. If you will be doing a lot of tripod or monopod shooting of relatively static subjects it's probably worth the price. If you are looking for a good macro for close up work then this is probably not the lens you want.</p></blockquote><p></p>
