I am looking at upgrading my phone at the end of the month and would like feedback regarding what I should get.

  1. Iphone 7 plus
  2. Galaxy S7 Edge
  3. Google Pixel XL
  4. LG V20

I voted, but the big first question is what do you carry today? Are you an iPhone or Android guy?

I'm not a fan of the iPhone 7, I'll keep carrying m 6s Plus for awhile longer. That said, I hear great things about the S7E, and based on my experience with the S4 a few years back I would probably lean that way unless I had already bought into a large number of apps.

I'd personally pick the Pixel XL. My Nexus 6p is pretty close in specs and I love it so not currently needing (but always wanting) an upgrade.

I currently have a Sony Xperia Z5.

Have been considering this phone and the main reason is the unlimited photo and video storage.

I'm still happy with my Galaxy S5 and I have managed not to break it for 2 years now. I'd likely go with another in the Galaxy family. My daughter just got the iphone 7. I never cared for the iphone anyway, but the removal of the headphone jack really annoys me. Seeing the dopey little 3.5mm adapter cable in person left me with a bad taste as well as the included earbuds with lightning connector.

Good luck with your hunt Scott... It's hard to make a recommendation from here because there's so much variability in what kind of services ya'll have over there...

S7E is an excellent phone overall.

I'd hold off on the Pixel until reviews come out but it also looks awesome.

LG V20 looks good but I'd say the last two are better overall.

iPhone 7 Plus is only worth getting if you're into Apple as it falls behind the others in most areas.

If it was my choice, I would get the standard S7 vs. the Edge. Yes, I like the bigger battery of the Edge. but I like the size and price of the S7 better. The bigger Edge is just too big for me, even though I have big hands. Finally, for what it is worth, I currently use the S6 and love it.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I may need to add another choice in the line up now removing the iPhone and putting in its place the Sony XZ. Thoughts?

After all the phone saga with the Samsung I could not honestly trust its reliability so have went for the tried and tested Sony. So far it has performed flawlessly and was easy to transfer my data from old phone wirelessly.

Over the past 9 (?) years I have had 3 Sony phones. I am really pleased with the quality of build. I only bought my current one because my old one wouldnt upgrade to the later versions of android that I needed for a couple of apps I needed.
