Lightroom Mobile

Not so much Mac vs. PC as it is for iOS and not Android. My understanding is that the plethora of Android tablets, all of different sizes and resolutions, makes building a Lightroom version for that operating system all the more complex, so they're concentrating on the iPad crowd first with the possible release of an Android version down the road.

Faulty thinking though.....Android outsells IOs by a wide margin.....so Adobe.....get with the correct program! dammit!

I disagree. If you're going to develop a new piece of software, build it for a consistent platform, get it right, and then deal with the oddities that android devices give you in the port over to the other OS. To face all of that up front gives you a probable bug-fest. I would also wager that while Android outsells iOS, the number of potential users across the two platforms are likely spread fairly evenly, particularly when you limit the numbers to tablet users (it's not available for the iPhone, and I would therefore expect not for the Android smartphones).

That's what I love about America.....everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I've got the stand alone version of LR and it downloaded perfectly for me....just sayin'

It may have downloaded, but did it work (were you able to sign in and use it)? Both the Mac Rumors page and the FAQ link on the Adobe page above say that a CC membership plan is required and that Lightroom Mobile is a service that is not included as part of the perpetual Lightroom 5 license. I'm hoping that it works (since I also just bought the standalone version of Lightroom 5), but I'm thinking that it won't.

It works as far as I know....I've used Lightroom today but not specifically the mobile part of it. It opens like normal and functions normally. In fact as soon as I opened LR this morning, a dialogue box popped up asking me if I wanted to update it. I figure if Adobe wanted to limit the release to only those that are cloud based, I wouldn't have gotten the message.
