Lightroom import question

I'm using Lightroom 4 (upgraded to 4.4). Having trouble sorting out my importing work flow.

My hard drive is setup as .../My Pictures/My Lightroom Photos/2013 This is the folder path in the upper right corner of the IMPORT screen under Local Disk (C:)

Under Destination I created a custom folder name(check into subfolder). let's call it Weekend images.

For Some reason LR want's to import these images to .../My Pictures/My Lightroom Photos/Weekend images/2013/2013-07-19


I want the images to import to .../My Pictures/My Lightroom Photos/Weekend images/ Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

You've chosen the option to let LR put these into separate folders sorted by date.
Uncheck the box & it'll download directly to the folder you want it to.

Under destination, you have a checkbox saying 'into subfolder'
uncheck that..

below that you have a dropdown saying 'organize'
there you would have chosen 'by date'
select 'into one folder'

OK. If I uncheck 'into subfolder', how can I create a custom subfolder name to import the images to?

If I select "Into one folder" what folder will the images be imported to? The one I have selected on the upper right under 'Local Disk (C:)?

*edit - got it. I need to check 'into subfolder', assign a new folder name and select 'into one folder' from the dropdown right underneath :D
