Lightroom 6 problems

My copy of LR 6 was working extremely well until I downloaded and applied the latest update. After the update, in the Library I was unable to upload any files. The upload window would open and show the folders on my drives but, when I selected the appropriate, or any folder it failed to display the contained files. After several hours of frustration I decided to uninstall and reinstall it.

I reinstalled from the CD and immediately downloaded the update which failed with an error message U44M1P7. When I closed LR6 and tried to reopen it in an attempt to clear the problem, it would not open. So I un and re installed LR6 again. Same problem it would not open. I have now tried this process three further times with no success. LR6 will NOT now work on my Windows 8.1 computer no matter what I do.

Be warned, this could happen to you! Anyone want to buy LR6 cheap????:beaten::beaten::dispirited::dispirited:

Have you tried contacting Adobe technical support?

Hmmm, I haven't upgraded my Lightroom 6 CC yet - I keep getting notifications but haven't had a chance to update. I might wait for a few weeks for the bugs to be ironed out.

I have gone round and round on their support web pages and got nowhere. Nothing in the FAQ's no phone number and a constant loop that keeps taking me back to the same log in page. I've spent about 5 hours on this today and I'm no further forward so-------------------Time for a beer and come back at it tomorrow:very_drunk:

I totally understand your frustration, been there and done that. My first use of adobe graphic software was with LR 5, just recently. I thought it is a good product and still do. Unfortunately they improved it, lol. Upgraded to 6 and had nothing good to report so uninstalled.

Adobe support is exactly the opposite of support. It is torture. Whatever contract they have with the overseas service outfit must be a joke. I was promised a refund on LR 6, never came after going round and round with several reps online. I have heard that the adobe bank account is a one way street. People state that they have had to close bank accounts to keep adobe from taking the monthly fee, months after requesting cancellation of cc service.

The monthly fee is a great deal for those who use it often, cripes PS and LR for next to nothing. LR 5.7 is a good program and I am glad to have purchased it. Unfortunately the upgrade to 6 turned out to be less than.

A new day and a fresh start. I'm going to trawl the Windows registry for orphan LR files and remove them then try to re install.::what::

Thanks for the tips guys, I got her done. System restore fixed the Windows problem and re installing LR6 went OK. Updated using the installer rather than through the program and it all worked well. LR 6 now restored to it's former glory.

I have to say that I do like the program now that I am more knowledgeable and comfortable with it.
