We still photographers spend a great deal of time discussing our lighting requirements but we're actually quite simplistic when compared to the motion picture industry. I was recently invited to look at a lighting collection owned by a former Hollywood director. The collection is stored in his airplane hanger along with his two private aircraft and I thought others might be interested in some of the items that date from the 1930s through the 1960s. These images just touch on the sheer volume of equipment.
