Lenses in humid environments

Hi all,

my 5yr old daughter is currently doing a swimming course, throughout the course parents are "banned" so the kids are not distracted, however on the last day it is possible to go and watch. It is inside in a warm and very humid swimming hall and im a little nervous about taking the D7000 into this environment. I know the D7K is supposedly weather sealed, but I dont have any weather sealed lenses. What are your thoughts? Would the standard 18-105 lens handle such a humid environment without problem?

Thanks for your feedback!

I wouldn't worry about it, particularly if you're not changing lenses in there. Take off any filters as they're likely not as airtight and you may get condensation in there, and don't go directly from the cold to the warm and humid. If you're walking in from the car and it's cold out make sure the camera is in a heated environment first and keep it warm while you're traveling from the car to the pool. Other than that, enjoy, and take good pictures!!
