I have two lenses a 18/140mm and a 70/300mm and im looking to add to my collection, i like to shoot everything and anything but i have been advised to get a 50mm prime lens either F1.4 or F1.8g would either of these lenses be a good addition of better to look at another lens?

I'm a huge fan of the nifty fifty! 50mm 1.8G is a great lens for the price, and a great lens to help develop your photo-taking skills. The 35mm 1.8 is also grand for the price. A little more costly, the 85mm 1.8G is one of the sharpest primes on the market, and a great portrait lens (when you have the room).

You has budget in mind?

Personally, I think everyone should have a fast 35mm or 50mm prime in their bag, but that's me... The Nikon G and D versions of these lenses are about dirt cheap and they're really, really good lenses. They're so good and so cheap you should have one of each on *principle* alone. The Sigma "Art" versions are better, at least in my experience, but they're top-notch FX lenses and the prices reflect that. If you shoot wide you might want to consider something like the Tokina ATX 12-28mm f/4 Pro.

What you should buy depends on what you need... But I'd suggest if you don't need, that you don't buy.
