Lens for hire?

Has anyone tried out a lens for hire? I have been eying up all kinds of lenses and have to face it - I am unlikely ever to afford some of those expensive lenses. I have found all kinds of rip-off merchants - charging astronomical fees. But, I have also found genuine companies whose rates are really tantalizing.

For example to hire Nikon f/4G ED VR Super-Telephoto is about $223 for 7 days.

Worth it or not?

You are talking about Renting a lens. Places like Rent professional cameras or camera lenses for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Leica and Pentax or DSLR LENSES at AdoramaRentals

This can be a good way to use a lens for a short project that you otherwise can not afford to buy.

"Nikon f/4G ED VR Super-Telephoto" does not tell what lens you want. What focal length are you talking about?
