LED lights

I'm thinking about investing in a LED light for portrait work. Going to B & H this week to see the option, I have done some research these last few days. I'm planning on using it off camera(FYI). Anyone have any advice and/or experience with LED lighting?

I tested led continuous lighting for portraits a while back. My main gripe was how harsh on the eyes of the subject it was. They all complained and ended up squinting. I opted for two soft boxes with six globes each instead. They were cheaper and were received better.

I didn't make a big investment, I got the Yongnuo Professional LED YN-300. I will try to defuse it and/or use from angles that wouldn't affect the eyes so much. I would like to mix it up by using my SB-700 at the same time. Unfortunately, I'm not going to have the opportunity to shoot anytime soon but when I set something up I will post the results.

bumpy bumpy..

Was looking at these the other day, i was curious at what they were like for macro work? Any experience or feedback appreciated.
