Hi everyone

This is a shot I just took today in the scottish hills, would appreciate some feedback.

D3300 with 18-55mm.

18mm
f/8
1/80
ISO 200

Very basic adjustments using Photos for mac, converted to B&W for a more wintery feel.

Woodland landscape

Please let me know also if the size of image etc doesn't comply with the posting rules

Thanks

Photographing the sun is challenging, at least for me. If this was your focal point, try the rule of thirds.
Something in the foreground adds a lot of depth and interest to landscape shots. I am learning everyday and certainly no expert so hopefully someone from the brain trust here will be along with something valuable to add.

It was more the contrast between the sun and the trees I was trying to capture, that's what caught my eye at the time anyway. But I agree putting the sun elsewhere in the frame may have been an improvement.

Thanks for your thoughts

No item of interest in the photo. Just some trees and some grass that could be anywhere or anytime. Appears in the front that the ends are curved up from the 18mm lens.
