I hear you, Scott. When I get this way I start browsing photo sights, like 500px.com and This Is Colossal. On the latter I recently stumbled upon the light painting of landscapes by Harold Ross, the concept of which seems so utterly simple, but I can only imagine the practice involved to get the execution right. So I've made it a goal to try and do some of these, particularly as the snow comes. It's something different, and I only wish I'd found it during a warmer time of year as I we're lacking greens, and I don't particularly relish the idea of standing outside in freezing temps practicing. If nothing else a lot of what I'm seeing has me thinking more about what I want to photograph as opposed to just going out to shoot. New equipment is always an inspiration too, though it's not always convenient to drop extra money just to pull you out of the doldrums. Time off is good as well.
