I know people are going to say " I knew that " but anyway I just worked out today that when I am photographing products with my camera on tripod and in live view I can zoom in and fine tune my focus !! Great for products and macro ! Well there you go I think I am preaching to the converted  by the way did I mention I love the 50mm 1.8G ;)

Actually, I knew that (read it in a thread about star photography). Now since my old Relic D60 doesn't have Live view, it does me no good.

I learn something new nearly every time I come on site! Now if I could just keep from forgetting half of it, I'd be thrilled! Lol :D

I learned this recently (youtube: The 15 Features of Your DSLR That Every Photographer Should Know). I missed the instruction in what you say.

1) Focus (manual, automatic whatever)
2) Go to manual focus mode (or override)
3) Go to Live view
4) Zoom maximum on the detail you want
5) Manually fine tune
6) Set up the shot and shoot

Obviously works best on tripod, but I tend to use it on handheld (moving camera for focus) macro shots as well.
N.B.: What bugs me is that I loose the zoom for the next picture, a pain for moving bugs.

Did I say I love the 50mm f1.8G
