Okay. Am also digging out my Opteka HD 10x macro lens and getting a 1.4 TC (I can't really afford it, but I want it and it's all about giving at this time of year). It'll add some oomph to my 18-300mm lens as well. I'll then change my name to Scott Murray and move to Queensland!

Another suggestion is a extension tube set which can be used with any lens. The new ones can be used in full auto with focus and exposure. A set of three is around 200$. I even used it with my manual focus 105 f2.5 lens.

google 105mm macro used - b h photo and adroma should show up - i have used both and i am satisfied with them. Suggest getting an older 105 macro w/o vr (sigma or nikon) and buy a good tripod.
