When the area was first settled there had to be a way to control the spread of diseases. There was a place built out on the island below. It was known as the &quot;Pet House&quot; Petulance House. Regular floods made it unfeasible to keep up so the above building was built. &nbsp;&nbsp;[ATTACH]99317[/ATTACH]&nbsp;&nbsp;In the second picture to the right you can see the lighter colored brick building. It's actually a separate building. For many years it was a place where train travelers would find women for temporary company. The station was to the right and the tracks ran right in front of the building pictured. It then ran across the bridge I often take pictures of. &nbsp;&nbsp;There is a local lady who operates a local ghost tour. Now I've went to all her places because she can get me in to places I normally wouldn't be able to but I have to say, never as much as a boo. Anyway, the above building was converted to apts. They are empty. Nobody wants to live in them.&nbsp; &nbsp;The lighter building has been converted into a wonderful hotel. If ever in the area it's where you want to stay. &quot;The Hackett Hotel&quot;. It's pricey but worth it.
