I found the larger Jessops shops to have more knowledgeable staff, which is a shame as it would have been nice for that knowledge to be shared around their stores more :) Staff are always friendly when I've been and happy to help, but I think ultimately their demise has come from not keeping up with the price competition. Their online prices are different to their retail shop prices, which is understandable, you'd expect that. But when you can buy online from them for cheaper and then collect instore , this in my eyes gives the store little chance of grabbing any revenue from the sale - they are literally just a collection point. And this is an area where they have failed in over the last few years. Instore prices are always high, online prices come in usually midway, and only sometimes on the cheapest price list. On the plus side, well here's hoping for some clear out sales, as I've got a wishlist and it'd be nice to have a go at getting some of those items at a bargain (or reasonably discounted price). Chances of that though - not very likely. Now, all I have to do is make sure I can access Camera Price Comparison when I go out and about in case I pass a closing Jessops :)
