Decided I do enough of these to warrant a thread instead of mixing 'em in the general HDR thread. Took a walk last week while the NJ winter was hiding behind temps in the 50's. Goal was to climb up a nearby spot where "Superstorm" Sandy leveled an entire hillside of decades old hardwood trees. Straight down from the spot of devastation is a point where several hundred acres of open field converge in a forested corner. This focused the 80mph winds into a jet stream of sorts that went straight up the mountain 80 feet across. I wish I could get a tall enough vantage point to capture it. Nothing to give it perspective, but the largest tree in the first shot is about 4 feet across the trunk. This is one of my favorite spots out there. (Note to self, need to figure out which clubs to remove from the bag so I can fit a tripod some morning)
