ISO sensitivity step; 1/3 or 1/2?

ISO is the least important part of the exposure triangle for me, typically, which is why I shoot Auto-ISO 99.999% of the time. Even so, I don't use half-increments, I guess, because I don't see how it's an improvement over the more refined one-third increments.

Does anyone set their ISO sensitivity step value to 1/2 instead of the default 1/3? Why or why not? Thanks.

1/3 stop adjustment is simply more fine, less coarse steps. There simply is no reason not to take advantage of it.

One reason might be if you used an antique hand held meter that only read in half stops, maybe.
