Put the camera on a tripod so you get the same shot each time.  Shoot at 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400Make sure you get a good exposure on each shot.. Now do not do any post processing other than sizing on any of them.  Take a sample spot and blow each one of them up to 100% and then decide on exactly how much noise is acceptable.  A 100% crop is extreme so be sure to look at the full shot also,I is really a good exercise for anyone to do with their camera.  Lets you feel comfortable with your choice of ISO max</blockquote>
