I <em>needed</em> that extra stop, because while my camera at the time (D300s) was great for sports, its low light performance was poor. Good lenses helped make up for that.</p><p></p><p>There's a pretty big price gap, so you have to determine if it's really worth it based on what you're shooting.</p></blockquote><p></p>
