Newbie here, and I am hoping this isn't too off topic. Trying to find some answers re copying files to my iPad while on a 16 day cruise. The search function is not so helpful when practically everyone, including me, has a "sent from my iPad" in their signature line - lol:) We will only be in ports 5 of the 16 days, so uploading to the Internet will not be an option for most of the trip. And even when we are in port, I'm not sure i want to spend my days tied to an internet cafe. I have my first dslr so even though I've never shot in RAW and done any SW post production work, I've got about 3 months to get my process down and practice before I go. However, I was only planning on bringing an IPad, so I have some questions. It appears the SD card reader (or the cck) have a limitation on the cards they can read. My camera came with a 64 GB SDXC card. Has anyone used the SD Card reader with a 64 GB card? I was planning on buying some new cards for the trip anyway. Is there a difference between 32GB SDHC and 32 GB SDXC? If I'm shooting my pictures in raw on a Nikon D5200 22MP, just how many pictures can I get on a 32GB SD card? Apparently the apple card reader can't read cards formatted in exfat, does the Nikon give you choices on formatting when you put the card in or do you have to format the cards on your computer first? Sorry for all the questions. I am planning on taking a DSLR class, but I need to buy the cards before the class. :(
