Today I decided to give some attention to using my 18-55mm kit lens, since I've spent so much time using my 105mm. But when I put the kit lens on my D3100 and turned it on I got an error message telling me to turn the camera off then on again. So I did so, with no change. I tried removing the lens and reinstalling it too, and even looked to see if there was any visible damage or dirty connections. Well needless to say I didn't see anything, and so the only lens that normally will auto focus on my Nikon no longer works. I'm not really that upset about it, since it was never my favorite lens. But I am curious if any of you ran into this issue before, and if so what you did to fix it. So do any of you have a clue what to do to fix this? I'm completely broke for the foreseeable future, and I do like the idea of having at least one lens that will auto focus! Lol :)
