For my use, needing a wide range of zoom for my daily work at the department, it has proved itself from one end to the other. As you can see, the macro is pretty impressive -- no match for my 90mm, especially in iffy light, but more than adequate for most times. Under good shooting conditions, full out at 300 gives excellent color and quite acceptable sharpness. It does have some focus issues/softness in low light and continuous focus doesn't always lock as well as I'd hope for, but the latter may be as much the 5200 as the lens. Its size and weight are not at all uncomfortable; it is an easy hand-held for walking about.</p></blockquote><p></p>
