People steal stuff everywhere, even Iowa. I was out shooting at a State Park yesterday and somehow lost a small amount of photo gear. I initially thought I had left the items out and drove away w/o them - and they were gone by the time I returned - but I have a photo that seems to indicate they were stolen while I was around 100 feet away. I checked in with the ranger and a nearby gas station, but no luck. In any case, I lost a film SLR (a Ricoh XR-7) and some inconsequential items like a 50mm lens or two and extension tubes and a TC. I also lost my beloved monopod, but that one I have found the model for and can replace it. The tripod however, seems to elude my Googling skill. It was a lightweight travel tripod, and I think it was made by Manfrotto. It had twist-lock legs, a center column hook, a ball head with knobs (not levers) and the QR plate had a pushbutton release on the side (not a knob) and there was a level and a compass in the legs. I spent less than $100USD on it, and it was purchased about 4 years ago. Haven't been able to find anything like it so I was wondering, anyone have a clue what it might be?
