I was very dismayed, to say the least, to hear that he had committed suicide a while back. He was facing back surgery and possible long term care and did not want to burden his wife with that. But he did not think, or was too absorbed in self-pity to care, of the crushing emotional burden he would be placing upon her when she found him dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound. I lost a dear friend to suicide when he ate a bullet when his girlfriend dumped him. A woman with more emotional issues than a dog has fleas. She was pure poison but as they say attracted men like moth to a flame. The results devastated his friends and family. And he used a shotgun and was so badly physically destroyed that the family just went ahead and had him cremated.  He did not even have the decency to put the bullet through his heart, which presents are FAR LESS GRISLY though more protracted demise, scene than  placing the pistol in his mouth and pulling the trigger. I really liked him and his guitar playing and Sentimental Lady was one of my favorite songs, but I will have to admit I totally lost all respect for him after that. Suicide is, and always will be, a permanent solution to a temporary problem and the grief it leaves with the loved ones left behind, especially in a violent suicide, is selfish to the nth degree.</blockquote>
