I own a Nikon D610

I finally got exhausted with the extra maintenance of my Nikon D600, I found myself always checking for spots and/or cleaning the camera. I did my research and the D610 has been spot free (articles, youtube, etc). So far everything feels the same, I have a shoot lined up so I should be sharing some images soon. Even though I haven't tested it out yet, I already feel better.

I bet that's a big weight off your shoulders. Congrats on the D610. If the D610 works as it was redesigned to do then you should be in great shape. Good luck with the shoot.

I know how you feel! If Nikon knows how to fix the shutter issue, I wonder why they can't permanently fix the ones that are sent in for service..?

I assume (maybe incorrectly?) that you sold your D600 and bought a D610 instead. I'm curious how much $ you lost by doing that?

If I did it right now it would probably cost me about $1,000.

Thank you guy's, I definitely feel alot better. I had a little shoot this weekend and the camera is working great.. I wanted to do a full review on Lightroom but they haven't dropped the update for the D610 yet :-(

@VectorZ I don't understand how they let so many photographers down.. They really dropped the ball on the D600, especially how they handle the issue once it all hit the fan.

Boy, I hate to be the only bug here, but after 4k shots, the dust problem was gone for me. Haven't had to worry about it though I still do a monthly maint. Think I'll stick with my 600.

There is a problem with dust and oil on the D600, but like most internet posts, people tend to post problems and the lucky ones with no issues very rarely post.
I have a colleague with two D600 that's been in his possession for a seriously long time. He happens to be a staff photographer for a local paper and has thousands of shutter activations on each camera. He hasn't had any more dust and oil on his sensor than I have on my D4 or D800e, and neither have two members in my camera club.
I think you have to read between the lines on a lot of forums and reviews to see the true picture.
