PLEASE take Ken Rockwell and put him in a bin somewhere, then listen to what people are saying here.
D7100 is the best DX camera out there bar none and the D800, arguably the best FX.
If you have any money left, invest in good glass, you'll never regret it.

Lets keep this simple. Can you afford $3k for the best camera ever made (D800)? If you cant, get the D7100. Case closed. Its the best value DSLR on the planet. I own both. You cant go wrong with either. The D7100 renders images like no other crop sensor I have ever seen. Its the "D800" of the DX cameras. Its priced @ $1196.00 which is an EPIC bargain to say the least! I spend all weekend shooting 4 different weddings (2 of them video) and the D7100 is just out of this world for a DX camera.

I hope this helps. Happy Shooting.

Corey - I am interested in seeing some side by side comparison between the D7100 and D800E using your 24-70-200mm f2.8 lenses at various ISO levels. This will have to be on a separate thread or video of your choice of course.

I am working on that for sure bro LOL. This D7100 is just damn amazing. I swear its a baby D4 & D800 bastard child. Its like the frankenstein baby of MR. D800E and MRS. D4 LMAO.

In all seriousness, to shoot what you intend on shooting, you're going to need a D4 body. You can still use your kit lens, but you gotta have that D4 to do it. :encouragement:

Ahh, sorry. I just couldn't resist.:very_drunk:
