I don't think we can judge between film and digital by viewing an image on a computer. Grain is a component that can't be appreciated on a monitor (in my opinion). When I see some of my Dad's work hanging on my walls and compare it to my digital, there is just something missing in mine. Film and developing is just plain different, it has unique qualities which digital can never reproduce. In the same sense, digital has it's own unique qualities. I think grain becomes over enhanced when represented digitally, that's probably why I can't appreciate it on a computer monitor.</blockquote>
